FILM fans were left disappointed today as Glasgow city
centre's biggest cinema was hit by a power cut.
Cineworld in Renfrew Street was forced to close at 11.45am affecting around 10 films already showing, with more scheduled for later.
The cinema was already busy with Easter Monday
film fans and those who were in the cinemas or had bought their tickets were given a full refund.
The complex later reopened after the problem was fixed and all cinema screens were back in action.
A spokesman for ScottishPower said it was still too early to know what had caused the power cut but its engineers were still investigating.
He added: "We are sending out some engineers to have a look at the problem and to
find out if it is at their end or ours. The engineers will try to get the cinema back up and running as soon as possible."
The cinema has 18 screens on 11 floors and a capacity of more than 3000.
At more than 200ft high, it is the tallest cinema in the world.
