THE chosen few of the 10,000 who turned up to audition for TV favourite the X Factor will have to wait until next month for their big moment in front of the judges.
Sharon Osbourne, Danni Minogue, Louis Walsh and Mr Nasty Simon Cowell will come to Glasgow to see those still in with a chance of winning a £1million record contract around June, programme bosses said today.
Producers, as well as record company bosses, whittled down the huge crowds at Hampden Park during auditions on Monday, calling some back for further auditions yesterday.
Those selected from that round now make it to the televised auditions in front of the judges.
One person who impressed the panel is 16-year-old Martin Beattie, from Kilmarnock, who sang This Is The Moment from West End musical Jekyll and Hyde. He said: "I was ecstatic when told I was through, I couldn't believe it."
But for most, the dream was over before it had begun.
Nicole Fraser, 16, from Law, Lanarkshire, sang Fairground Attraction's Perfect for producers.
But it wasn't enough to get her through to the next round, despite the support of best pal Amy Irvine, who had special T-shirts made up emblazoned with her name.
Nicole, a pupil at Cardinal Newman High, said: "I think I was too nervous. Singing in front of the producers was very intimidating."
Govanhill girl band Dynamo didn't make it through either, despite spending days practising the Amy Winehouse song Tomorrow.
However, the girls, Chloe O'Brien, Francesca Harrity, Lauren McLean and Shannon McFadden, all 16, still had a blast.
Shannon said: "It's been great fun."
