PARENTS of 800 girls at a Glasgow school have been told that their children will not need health screening after a fellow pupil
was diagnosed with
tuberculosis.
Later editions of yesterday's Evening Times revealed a 15-year-old at Notre Dame High School in Dowanhill was given antibiotics after testing positive following the infection of a
family member.
But doctors say the latest TB case is not linked to an earlier outbreak at nearby Notre Dame primary. And the girl did not have the symptoms, including coughing, that would spread the infection to close contacts.
