Rights move for special needs kids
 

New proposals to improve the rights of special needs children were launched today by education secretary Fiona Hyslop.

The education secretary said that legislation in this area needed strengthened.

The Scottish Government has now put forward proposals to amend the law.

And Ms Hyslop said: "We all want every child to fulfil their potential.

I believe the proposals we have launched will help make that happen."

Ministers are consulting on amendments to the Additional Support for Learning (Scotland) Act of 2004.

Ms Hyslop added: "The Additional Support for Learning Act aims to help all children get the support they need."
