Great news The worst rubbish has two legs in Glasgow . Pity oor Stevey did not have the guts to stand in the forth coming by-election . Maybe the citizens of the east end might not have been so easily kidded by Stevey and would know exactly what he stands for ( no pun intended)

there needs to be more done to tackle the people who drop litter, and the people who abandon furniture and such like in the streets. Yes a rapid response unit is a good idea, however the cause of litter and rubbish needs to be tackled.

Come on Steven, tell us the one about how you are going to make Glasgow the cleanest city in Europe - that always cheers me up... [italic]go on, just for a laugh[/italic]!
BTW is this before or after you make the people of Glasgow bursting with fitness by keeping large numbers of leisure facilities unavailable to the public at crucial times?

I take the same view about your posts, as you do about Purcell's plans, they are "just for a laugh!"

[/quote] Couldn't agree more, those who don't litter or fly tip will continue to act responsibly. The bams will just wait until the rapid-response unit leaves more space for their mattresses. This will be a waste of money unless education & enforcement is beefed up too. We also need fast food shops to take responsibility for their 'contributions'

Does their remit include clearing all the beggars (mainly of Eastern European origin) from the city centre?

Wee Steven's no playin' an am gaun up the road, so let's have a wee look for ourselves back to June last year: last words from Steven were [bold]"I am determined to make Glasgow the cleanest city in Europe."[/bold]

Note the abundance of discarded chewing gum on George Square's '[italic]chewing gum resistant[/italic]' £50,000 surface in the background of the nice wee photie!

Purcell disnae look very happy in the pic ,I wonder if it has anything to do with him and 10 Glasgow city labour councillors being reported to the standard commissioner for very dodgy dealings.
The only rapid response team needed is one to
flush out liebour corruption in GCC.

And living in the nice wee bit which benefitted disproportionately from the way council boundaries were redrawn back then? And you're not paying for Milton or Drumchapel or the inconvenient bits of the city which, strangely, are on your doorstep?
Aye, it's easy then. Especially when you work in Glasgow in a job that your happy wee LA didn't have to invest towards... Life must be sweet. No immigrants in Bearsden please.
