I a sure that few people knew about the survey in the first place.
I would recommend Kelvin Road in East Kilbride as absolutely attrocious and nothing to do with utilities.
Most people assume that it is a ploy to reduce through traffic through such a poor condition.
Suggest the ET runs a hall of shame.

I drive along the street in Leeds mentioned in this column, believe me there is hardly an inch of the few miles that isn't patched up, still holed or badly rutted. Some people actually get internal injuries sitting on buses as they drive along it. The Paily road looks like a magic carpet ride by comparison!

[italic]Gourock Street, off Pollokshaws Road in the South Side, is described as an "uneven, potholed surface affecting more than half the width of the street" with residents describing it as a "patchy repair job".[/italic]
Gourock Street is a street which is a dead end and only 20 metres long if lucky, hardly a street of major importance.
If people want to complain, how about a street on the edge of the city centre it comes with pedestrians and residents and a few businesses that use cars, it also comes complete with a road marking that says bus stop, even though no buses have used the road since 1973/74 because like most of the road newtowrk in Glasgow at the time - it was sealed up and removed at a time when car ownerhip was rising
And unsurprisingly, this is Glasgow City Council's explanation...
[italic]Glasgow blamed a large number of the low road standards on bad repair work by public utility companies who regularly dig up streets.[/italic]
Roads are well maintained by the council, can't argue with authority, the are the holy bible, they are the gospel and the scriptures, they cannot be argued with or defeated in any way - what they say is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
Ah Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha <<<<< Evil Laugh!

.....Where in the list does Glenspean St/Alloway Rd in the South side appear? Even at less than 5 mph your head batters off the roof!!

Im surprised Shamrock Street (Garnethill, near City Centre) didnt feature. Its impossible to tell which bits are actually the road, and which bits are the various cheap, temporary "repairs" which have been done over the years. You can see cobblestones on Shamrock Street too.
Most of the roads in Garnethill are of a 3rd World Standard, thanks to Labour incompetence & negligence. Keeping decent roads isnt tough - any fool with a spirit level could do it - but not Glasgow City Council.
------------
Glasgow blamed a large number of the low road standards on bad repair work by public utility companies who regularly dig up streets.
------------
Pathetic. Despite it being their own responsibility, the cowards in the City Chambers attempt to pass the buck.
Next they will say its our fault the roads are a state, because its us using the roads which wears them out.
Its frightening to think that theres people out there who actually buy into GCC litany of rubbish/excuses on these matters. Talk about thick.
What a geat tag line for the Commonwealth Games "Welcome to Glasgow - please mind the 3rd world roads as you go". Its typical short sighted Labour. They think the games are a coup for the city - in reality, the City will be shamed as people come as see what its really like here. Most Cities make an effort to scrub up before international attention - I have seen squat evidence of this here.
Right enough, maybe if they werent so obsessed with self-serving rubbish like the games, the Council would have some time to actually make a fist of the fundamentals of their job.
