My brother has to pay it with card at some shops.But the last few months the machine wont accept his card even when the assistant punches in numbers .hes written to BBc licencing etc etc about the prob,Asking them for a new card so he can pay it,They have never replied.But just keep sending reminders.They wont discuss that sort of complaint on the phone!What can he do.

I am one of those addresses that does not have a TV licence. I do not have a TV. Haven't had one for 10 years.
You can imagine the incredulity I face when I deal with the repeated threating letters I get.
Been threatened umpteen times with a home visit, even though I repeatedly told them I would be delighted to have someone drop round to check.
The one and only time someone came to my door, they didn't even attempt to gain entry, merely popped yet another threatening letter through my letter box.

High time the BBC was forced to either abolish the licence fee or go subscription only. The latter option will never happen, of course, cos how many would pay to watch the c_rap they produce?

The licence payers should not be paying for all these BBC quiz games that pay out prize money. I like watching The Weakest Link but programmes like this should be sponsored.

I got rid of a tv many years ago and I would never have one in the house again. That, however has not stopped the harassment by mail with claims that I am using a reciever illegally, I've got more to do with my time than waste my life watching a box. I don't see why in this day and age people should be held to ransom by one company demanding a payment from a viewer for the privellage to look at any other programme other than that of bbc. they should do as other companies do and advertise. A bit of work from their staff could make or break the company

As I understand it, the license is to receive any tv channels,'tho the BBC take all the money,I think I read that ITV were asking for a share of the license fees.

Why do we need this can't the BBC not get money of Virgin or Sky. Oh by the way the BBC co owns the UKTV channels etc UKTVgold and DAVE with Virgin Media. And these channels have adverts.

I dont want bbc on my tv would rather have the licence fee money and put it towards sky.I dont understand why we dont have this basic freedom of choice.The bbc waste so much of our money its unbelievable just look at the number of presenters they paid at the open that were not required and next year Japan 300 athletes 430 staff its pathetic.the apathy in scotland is unbelievable . we should have the choice The money paid to people like Graham Norden and Jonathan Ross is obscene who are the people who decide who gets what who the hell are those retarded people because i can assure you they dont represent anybody that i know time to get rid of this giant cleek now.
