Glasgow has always been known as cinema city', but now it can lay claim to being DVD city'.
New figures have revealed the city has the third-highest number of film fans outside London and Bristol.
According to statistics from online rental firm Lovefilm, Glasgow film buffs rent more movies than their Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh counterparts.
In fact, Glasgow is third in the list behind behind the two south of England cities.
Analysis of Lovefilm's 900,000 members also showed that Glas-wegians are patriotic when it choosing which films to rent.
The top most popular DVDs being rented in Glasgow are The Last King of Scotland and Atonement, both of which star the city's own homegrown Hollywood star James McAvoy.
Glaswegians, it would appear, prefer drama and action adventure over comedy and horror.
Eight of our top 10 favourite rentals are drama or action adventure films and include blockbusters like Leonardo DiCaprio film Blood Diamond, The Bourne Ultimatum starring Matt Damon, Bruce Willis' Die Hard 4 and American Gangster starring Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington.
Only two comedies, Hot Fuzz and Knocked Up made it to the top 10.
The city also has more than its fair share of foreign film buffs, as more foreign language films are rented in Glasgow than anywhere else outside of London.
