I don't think this will be news to anyone. For me, it's not so much the fear of being attacked - though obviously that's always a possibility - it's the disgust I feel at having to share public transport with them, waiting at bus stops near them with their spitty fags and their chipmunk ring tones, seeing them peeing in people's doorways, or spitting in the street, and keying people's cars, and spitting out seemingly endless numbers of children who will grow up, most likely, to be just the same.
It's the fact that they rip the P right out of all of us, by raking in the benefits and taking the money off all of us that go out to work like chumps to keep them in the style they've become accustomed to. The fact that they never stop moaning that what they get still isn't enough, even though they already get pretty much everything for free.
Instead of being grateful and keeping their heads down, they behave like scum, and then threaten you if you have the nerve to protest.
Contraceptive in the buckie, the sunny D and the greggs pies, please. Seriously. They reproduce at a faster rate than they can stab each other, it has to stop.

LOL Glamkitty, I agree with all you said, but we must be more understanding of our shell suited brethren, after all it's not their own fault that they are repulsive, uneducated, moronic, human garbage. Best to think of them as victims of a cruel society and just pay your taxes with a smile! :)

I was in Sauchiehall Street on Saturday and thought how a once wonderful thoroughfare with elegant stores and cinemas has deteriorated into a skanky place with horrible cheap shops and fast food outlets.I avoid it when I can as its just not comfortable any more.As for parking?£2 for an hour between Pitt Street and Douglas Street at 3pm on a Saturday.Ill spend my money at Braehead.

Neds are basically just a walking dose of the clap - irritating, spread through unprotected sex and unlikely to get better on its own. Some of them were probably even christened Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea by their thick-as-pig-sh*t mothers.
If we want Glasgow's chronic case of 'public lice' to clear up, we have to stop the mothers (no point saying 'parents', as the part of 'dad' is probably recast every few weeks) letting soap operas and reality TV raise their kids, end this culture of coddling children to avoid making them 'feel bad' in any way (feeling bad is part of life; get used to it) and - above all - scrap this lunatic policy of not actually punishing people for crimes.

Unfortunately, co habiting with the low life is all part and parcel of living in a city. Is Glasgow really much worse than any other big city? I don't know, but I doubt it.

And 'part and parcel' is right. Sure, we could all avoid the problem by moving out of the city, but sod that! I'm not denying myself all the amenities of the city just 'cos there's a few wee neds around. The best way to become a victim is to act like a victim I guess. If you avoid the city, then the neds win.

It's not just the city though is it. They're absolutely everywhere. Every place in the whole of the UK I've visited, no matter how bustling, or how remote - there's neds/chavs/scum all with the same 'charms'.
Ridiculous benefits culture is to blame in my opinion. People are rewarded for being skanks, and people who work and pay taxes and obey the rules are penalised and taken for a ride.
WE should be first priority. Not these vile wee parasites.

Its time to reclaim some land out in the north sea and dump them all there. In fact, forget the land part to that suggestion.

Glamkitty & others above....you tell it as it is. Well done. I wish I could go out at night....just a wee stroll down to the pub for a couple of drinks...daren't do it. Wish I could go to watch a bowling match on a summer's evening, have a pint and stroll home....daren't do it.
Wish I could go on the bus to see the lights in George Square at Xmas....daren't do it.
Why am I paying large amounts in council tax to support a city and its amenities which I can't , because of ferral neds, use?

Glamkitty & Scottish Rose, agree with both of you. I was SHOCKED when I went back to Glasgow after over a decade. Neds everywhere, all wearing expensive trackies & trainers. The amount of people of working age walking around during the day or hanging around outside pubs was disgusting. I think benefits should be completely stopped after 6 months & you should only be entitled to ANY if you have paid into them for a year. Child benefit should be for the necessities. If they want clothes etc. they can either get a job & PAY for it, or set up a welfare unit where they can go to collect second hand clothing. No trainers or trackies allowed!!! It's time to cut back the welfare state to what it was originally set up for. To help those in financial hardship. Not spongers who have never worked a day in their life.

The only way out of this - in my opinion - is to tighten the laws and make parents legally responsible for their children. Maybe that'll teach them to raise their kids with some sort of respect for others and their property.

I work as a security guard in the courts. we caught a ned stealing a bottle of irn bru from the cafe. when searched she had over £200 in her pocket. her benefits. yet she still felt the need to steal a 90p bottle of juice? she gets more in her benefits than I earn and she gets her house on the social. How is this fair?! I work for my money!
I say chemically castrate them at birth. stop the spread!
