Indeed even the cash cow that used to be Edinburgh has seen its largest decline in over 10 years (3%) and worse is to follow, given the current economic problems in the UK

1. Let's see if I've got this straight: I'm travelling to a meeting in London, I arrive at the airport at 5.30am to find I'm in now the same queue for security as two 767s-worth of holidaymakers bound for Alicante and Palma, all with half-litre bottles of Factor 16 lotion to be checked and confiscated? Riiight, this is an improvement how?
2. Now that there is a common departure area where domestic and international passengers mix freely, will passengers now have to be photographed and barcoded, and in future fingerprinted, before travelling? No thanks. I'm not a criminal, so please don't treat me like one.
Two more reasons to take the train, then.

Presumably we'll be advised to allow a four hour check in, after all there 's lot's of lovely shops ti rip us off now.

That's great having all these extra shops etc. But what's the point in having them selling anything liquid over 100mLs when the new security will only take it off you. They should have done all these things for after the security.
