Still sceptical about the shops, bars and flats thing.
As for the job cuts,it's not the 'paper, this recession is affecting everyone.
Still sceptical about the shops, bars and flats thing.
Rightly so!
this recession is affecting everyone
True, but for those whose income is secure (most people aren't at risk of losing their jobs), super-low interest rates, falling inflation and discounts in all the shops isn't such a bad place to be. Even if people don't like to say it.

il jobs, journalists etc. These were probably considered secure jobs. I thought I had a job for life but I got sacked in a "restructure" and that was during the "boom". What I mean is that as more people become available in the jobs market employers will look to getting rid of workers and replace them with cheaper ones.Changes in Employment laws now make it even easier to do it now coupled with the changes to benefit rules.

You're wrong chief. People in this country who like to infer that we are riven with a sectarian divide might like to make the cafflics and proddies don't snog insinuation...but it just ain't true. All research indicates more than 50% of those declaring themselves as RC are married to someone from outside that faith. That doesn't include those who simply bidey-in. That is a HUGE mixed faith relationship percentage and belies the arguemtns of those who like to infer Glasgow is Belfast without the paramilitaries.
But you're right about the inappropriate nature of Elva's 'advert'...but I'm guessing the ET moderators might have already been sacked!

I was at a christening last month. My niece had a little girl. Her grandfather refused to attend because the baby was being christened a cafflic and he was still bitter that his son married a cafflic even though they're now divorced. It's such a shame because he is really old and I couldn't imagine life without my beautiful little grand daughter. He is missing out in so much.I don't blame him personally someone must have made him that way.

Just a couple of years ago. When ever an Asian came to my work he was always put to work with me cos no one else wanted him and I suffered for that too. When? Just last year. The 21st. Century.
I should have stated SOME catholics won't marry protestants and vice versa and IF you had read my post I highlighted the fact that it has caused splits in families.
As for interracial see "arranged" marraige.
I refer to "the good old days" with tongue in cheek.
I would never have come across this "forum" if I wasn't on the burroo. That's why I appear to post on it quite a lot.Oh!and a strange desire to answer people like you.
Volunteer work? Am too busy!
I "visit" Bishopbriggs almost every day to buy materials for my homers.
Ye talk ****!??? Yeah THAT'S original

Let me fix some of the errors in your reply, #1 why perpetuate this Label "TIM" when most people know it is Derogatory, #2 Because you were put to work with "an Asian" you suffered. you poor guy, #3"You should have stated Catholics wont marry protestants and vice versa" I notice that in a lot of your posts after the fact, Should have, would or could have.#4 " Tongue in cheek" sorry I am not a mind reader state what you mean, instead of leaving it to us to guess what you mean #5 I agree you are strange,#6 volunteer work" yeah I know your "Homers" #7 visit Bishopbriggs, B&Q I take that's where you get your materials #8 Ye talk ****" that's not what I wrote. I said Ye talk the biggest loada s h i t e this side of Lennoxtown. Last but not least I can't beleive you you proudly boast about doing Homers and being on the Buroo and broadcasting it to the world. nice one.

OMG. I got out of bed at exactly the same time you you posted.Scary, Eh?Let me "fix" the errors in your reply.
No.1.Being called a TIM doesn't offend me. In fact I been called a lot worse. Being on the burroo now that DOES offend me. Having to sign on that is degrading.
No.2. I suffred because I wasn't a racist and defended asian people.
No.3. As I have only started posting recently and am not very good with a keyboard I can accept that my syntax may not be up to scratch.
No.4. Yes I can accept that not everyone has a sense of humour.
No.5. NOT being a racist b1got and having a sense of fair play seems to be strange in a lot of peoples minds.
Nos. 6,7,8. See No. 4.
