As forum members are aware (despite many threads being pulled by administrators), Govanhill has the potential to be a gem but is beset with significant problems, from slum housing and racial tension, through to high crime and low unemployment. Posted by: tobester, summerston, glasgow on 8:11pm Thu 11 Dec 08 I visited this during the doors open day weekend, and the people in the committee were very enthusiastic about trying to get it re-opened, i hope they are successful, was a fascinating place to visit Posted by: Peter Painter, Glasgow on 2:16am Fri 12 Dec 08 It is very nice of Frank McAveety to support this project which he once so vehemently opposed. Is it a real change of heart or just political opportunism? I wouldn't trust the man as far as I could throw pies at him. I do hope that The Govanhill Baths Community Trust achieves it goals. I salute the sterling work of its members who have worked tirelessly over the years. Community action does work!
