THE FRATELLIS @ THE SECC: Frat’s what I call a top gig

CHRISTMAS came early for Fratellis fans last night when the band's world tour finally rolled into Glasgow's SECC.

Flanked with the support of upcoming Scottish bands Attic Lights and Sergeant, this much-anticipated homecoming gig was well worth the wait.

Kicking off with Country Boys and City Girls, Jon, Barry and Mince cranked up the volume - which even surpassed the noise from the nearby Irn-Bru Carnival.

The Cumbernauld-born lads took the crowd on a rollercoaster ride, churning out hit after hit.

Frontman Jon was surrounded on stage by a sea of lava lamps of all colours and sizes.

The band belted out Flathead, Creepin' Up The Backstairs and Henrietta.

Lager flew across the audience when the group blasted out festival anthem Chelsea Dagger.

And the three piece, who will take a well-earned rest to write material for their new album, due out next year, left fans with a going away gift by encoring with their biggest hit this year, Mistress Mabel.
