EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Josh McLachlan kicks off the Evening Times' fantastic football giveaway.

We have teamed up the Scottish Government and the St Enoch Centre to hand out 6000 mini-balls to shoppers this week.

The promotion is part of the Take Life On campaign, which aims to improve the health of the nation.

Readers can take along a token published in the Evening Times and pick up a free football from the St Enoch Centre every day until Saturday.

Goodie bags with healthy recipes, fridge magnets and information sheets are also available.

Take Life On is urging thousands of Scots to make an active start to the new year, by eating healthily, cutting down on alcohol and walking briskly every day.
