A DOCTOR has appeared in court accused raping two women.

Michael Lever appeared at the High Court in Glasgow accused of raping the first woman in a charge which also claims he compelled her to take drugs.

These include anti-psychotic substances and an aphrodisiac known as Spanish Fly.

The accusation runs from September 1993 to May 2010 at various locations in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, the Borders and London.

Lever, 45, is also accused of a breach of the peace against the same female between 1999 and 2000, leaving her fear and alarm.

No plea was made and the case was continued until next month.
