A WOMAN has admitted causing the death of a pedestrian by knocking him down at a zebra crossing.
Care assistant Lorraine Bruce failed to notice that Gavin Currie, 25, had stepped onto the crossing in Main street Neilston, Renfrewshire.
She said she had become distracted by a crowd outside a nearby pub. By the time she braked it was too late and Mr Currie was struck by her car.
Bruce admitted causing his death by driving carelessly on December 28, 2011. Her lawyer said that his 44-year-old client told police: "I just didn't see him."
Sheriff Susan Sinclair deferred sentence until September 27, calling for background reports and banned Ms Bruce from driving.
