Drivers face parking blitz as fines shortfall hits £1m

MOTORISTS face a Glasgow parking crackdown after the city admitted it was facing a £1million shortfall on fines this year.

City Parking, the council's loss-making parking firm, today revealed a series of measures to boost income, including the introduction of body cams for its wardens.

Troubled City Parking – one of the controversial arm's-length companies set up by former city leader Steven Purcell – has already been bailed out twice this financial year.
