DRUGS with a street value of nearly half a million pounds have been seized by police.
Officers made the discovery after searching a home in Cairngorm Gardens, Cumbernauld, at about 12.20pm on Tuesday January 13.
The drugs are believed to be cocaine and heroin, with an estimated value of £470,000.
Inquiries into the find are continuing.
Detective Inspector Kevin Jamieson, of Lanarkshire CID, said: "This is a significant find and its seizure will certainly have an impact on those involved in their distribution.
"Officers are currently carrying out enquiries in to the find and I would appeal to anyone with information about the drugs or the premises in which they were found to contact police on the non-emergency number 101 or to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence."
