Campaign cuts Glasgow gang violence by half

A PIONEERING police initiative targeting Glasgow gangs has resulted in a big drop in violent crime.

More than 350 gang members have signed up to the scheme and given up their old ways.

As a result, the Violence Reduction Unit’s gangs’ initiative after just one year shows a 49.2% drop in recorded violent activity among those involved with the initiative.
