Holyrood denies Lockerbie claim

The Scottish Government has denied suggestions that lobbying by oil giant BP played a part in the decision to release the man convicted of the Lockerbie bombing.

It said there had been no contact with the company.

The issue raised by US Senators centered on the Prisoner Transfer Agreement (PTA) negotiated by the governments of the UK and Libya.
