Salute to brave 19

Hundreds of people gathered in Glasgow to mark the 50th anniversary of Britain’s worst peacetime fire disaster, the Cheapside Street blaze.

A total of 19 men were killed when a city centre whisky warehouse exploded.

Relatives of the blaze victims joined survivors and city officials yesterday to mark the poignant occasion.
