Unemployment is still one the biggest challenges facing Glasgow. Hardly a month has gone by in the past two years without a major announcement of job losses, adding to the city’s army of jobless.
Some areas are among the worst in Britain, with inter-generational unemployment a common feature.
In the last year Glasgow and the west of Scotland has been rocked by job losses in the hundreds at international names like Diageo, Barclaycard, and BASF.
