The 68-year-old was named the winner of the £1000 Home Delivery Prize Draw after he sang the praises of Stephen Menzies who delivers his paper.
George, who retired three years ago, is planning to use the money for home improvements.
He said: "Overall the Evening Times is a good paper, that's why I have it. Everything is good, but I like my sports.
"I feel great to have won, it is a real surprise
"I can't praise Stephen too highly. He is very good at his job."
And Stephen was equally pleased after being presented with a tablet computer for providing a top service.
The 17-year-old from Erskine was presented with his prize by the Evening Times' home delivery manager, Stephen White.
Stephen started as a paperboy when he was 13 and just finished school this year.
He said he loves being a junior agent and has some great customers who he delivers to.
The winner of the £1000 is picked at random from the Evening Times' home delivery database of customers.
Their junior agent is then rewarded with a tablet for delivering to the winner. If you would like to enter the draw, email: home. delivery@ heraldandtimes.co.uk or telephone. 0141 302 7300.
