EX-Rangers star Maurice Edu escaped a warrant after a court was told he was one of President Obama's favourite footballers.
The Stoke footballer was not present at Glasgow's Justice of the Peace court to stand trial for allegedly having illegal tinted windows on his luxury 4x4 car.
The court was told Edu was playing for the USA team in Russia yesterday. The justice of the peace branded it "unacceptable" saying the charged dated back to November 2010.
The Crown did not seek a warrant and another date was set for later this month.
