Excitement is building for tennis fans with just hours to go before Andy Murray bids for his first Australian Open title.

The Scot is facing Novak Djokovic in tomorrow's final after the world No 1 beat defending champion Stan Wawrinka in five sets.

After beating Tomas Berdych in four sets in the semi-final, Murray is one match away from winning his first Australian Open and his third Grand Slam title.

The British number one, 27, will be on tv in the UK from 8.15am tomorrow.

Among those watching on tv will be Andy's mother Judy, who flew home after seeing him clinch his semi.

She had to return to the UK to prepare Great Britain for the Federation Cup match against Liechtenstein next week.

Andy has spoken during the tournament of how he hoped to win to repay new coach Amelie Mauresmo for her help.

He said: "A lot of people criticised me for working with her and I think so far in the Open we showed women can be very good coaches as well.

"Madison Keys, who reached the semi-finals here, is also coached by a woman in Lindsay Davenport and I see no reason why that can't keep moving forward so I am very thankful to Amelie for doing it.

"I would say it was a brave choice from her and hopefully I can repay her in [the final]."

Murray's fiancée Kim Sears will be hoping for a calmer match after she appeared to launch a furious tirade at Berdych during the semi-final.

In one of several heated moments during the clash, the usually poised 27-year-old appeared to hurl a string of expletives towards Czech player.
