A BALLERINA dressed as a "good snowflake" danced in a giant snow globe on Buchanan Street to celebrate the launch of Scottish Ballet's new production of The Nutcracker.
The new production draws on Ernst Hoffmann's original fairy tale, The Nutcracker and the King of Mice.
Scottish Ballet dancer Claire Robertson was dressed in a crystal embellished snowflake costume, with an individually designed tutu, giving a taste of the vivid retelling of the famous Christmas story.
On a snowy Christmas Eve, Marie hears the story of a brave young man who saves a princess from a horrible curse, and as she sleeps she is transported into a surreal dream world where she must learn to fend for herself and discover the secret of true love.
Tchaikovsky's classic The Nutcracker score will be played by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra.
The show will run at the Theatre Royal from Saturday, December 8 until Saturday, December 29.
Tickets cost between £7 and £35. Visit www.atgtickets.com for more information.
