A GLASGOW family has taken a desperate search for their missing dog all the way to Buckingham Palace.

Much-loved pet Logan, a three-year-old German Spitz, was last seen in the Bishopbriggs area in October.

His owners were devastated to find him missing from the fenced off garden he had been playing in and the gate wide open, leading to fears he may have been stolen.

Owner Danielle Markey, 29, from Boghead Road in Kirkintilloch, and her mum Frances, 52, who lives in the South Side, have searched tirelessly for Logan, putting up posters across the city and launching a Facebook page to help trace him.

They have even put up a reward for his safe return.

Frances also decided to write to the Queen, a fellow animal-lover, to ask for help.

She received a letter in return from Buckingham Palace offering the Queen's sympathies and wishing her the best with the search.

But despite a number of suggested sightings, including one in Paisley, the Markey family has been unable to find Logan.

Frances said: "I know the Queen is a dog-lover and I thought I would contact her to see if there was anything she could do to help raise the profile of our campaign.

"I got a prompt reply telling me that she was very sorry to hear about Logan and wished us the best, but that the Queen was limited in what she could do to help."

Frances said: "I am on the internet from 6am until I start work, then at my lunchtime, in the evening and sometimes over week nights we are out looking for him.

"He is a big part of the family and we all miss him terribly.

"Logan is very distinctive looking.

"He is a small dog of around 17in and has a big cream pom pom tail which sits on his back. He also has a distinct black arrow that runs down his forehead."

Logan's details are also listed on missing pet websites, and
