Fears are growing for the safety of a Glasgow girl who has disappeared.

Caroline Williamson, 14, was last seen at her home in the city at around 5pm on Tuesday.

She has since failed to contact her family.

Police today said they were becoming increasingly concerned for her safety and wellbeing and made a public appeal for information.

She is described as approximately 5ft 2in, of slim build with very long black hair and blue eyes.

When last seen, she was wearing a black hooded top, black leggings and black shoes.

PC Heather Mackie from Baird Street Police Office said: "Her family are very concerned about her well-being and we are appealing for her to get in touch.

"We believe she could be in the Milton or Govanhill areas.

"She may also have gone into the city centre and may be around the area known as the Four Corners.

"I would ask anyone who may have seen Caroline or who knows where she is to contact police on 101."
