A PAISLEY nightclub has had its licence suspended by Renfrewshire Licensing Board for late payment of annual fees.
Moloko, in the town’s New Street, was ordered to close for five days at a meeting of the board on Friday 13 January.
The licence-holder for the pub – which is run by a Glasgow-based Jaleisure Ltd – did pay the fee in person on the day of the meeting.
But as the payment was three months late – and as this was the second time the pub had been in arrears – board members opted to impose the suspension.
Councillor Cathy McEwan, Convener of Renfrewshire Licensing Board, said: “We will take action to ensure the conditions of licences are complied with.”
The suspension of Moloko’s licence will run from 11am on Monday 16 January until 11am on Saturday 21 January.
