Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been sharing his football wisdom with students from a Glasgow university.

Members of Glasgow Caledonian’s undergraduate football teams received a coaching session from Sir Alex, 68, before showing off their skills in five-a-side match.

The ex-Rangers player, who is an Honorary Graduate of the university, also delivered a masterclass on leadership to students, staff and other guests.

During his speech, Sir Alex said: “It’s always great to see the work that is going on here at the university and the progress that the students are making.

I regularly receive the university’s magazine and it’s great to keep up with all their fantastic work.”

The football legend was back in his home city after being invited to help celebrate the centenary year of his former school, Govan High, as highlighted in last night’s Evening Times.
