EXTRA carriages will be laid on for rail passengers in the run-up to Christmas.
ScotRail are to provide scores of extra carriages to weekend services.
Coaches will be added to daytime services in and around Glasgow and Edinburgh every Saturday and Sunday from now until December 21.
Some late-night weekend trains will also be bigger.
ScotRail's existing alcohol ban will continue to apply.
Steve Montgomery, ScotRail's managing director, said: "Prov-iding extra carriages in the run-up to Christmas allows us to help more customers travel to and from the shops, and to get home on weekend nights.
"However services will still be busy."
