The Irishman's wife of 54 years, Myra, was joined by daughters Marie Therese, Louise Ann, Collette, Siobhan and Sinead and son Sean. Sisters Marie and June were also present.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson paid tribute to his long-standing friend at yesterday's funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, in King's Park, Glasgow.

He was renowned for his eye for talent and many of the greats he signed for the Glasgow club paid their respects, including Lisbon Lions Tommy Gemmell and Bertie Auld as well as Kenny Dalglish, Pat Bonner, David Hay and Danny McGrain.

Sending his condolen- ces, world football authority Fifa's president Sepp Blatter paid tribute to the foundations Fallon laid in setting up Celtic's youth system "fulfilling a role that is of such vital importance to the game", adding that this "continues to such good effect today".
