Firefighters are battling a huge fire at a school in Airdrie.
Emergency services were called to St Dominic's Primary in Petersburn Road at around 3.55pm.
Homes around the area have been evacuated as a precaution and people are gathering in Airdrie Football Stadium.
It appears there are no injuries, however, it is thought the building could be significantly damaged.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesman said 35 firefighters were at the scene in a bid to bring the blaze under control.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "At around 3.55pm police and Fire and Rescue Scotland were called to reports of a fire at St Dominic's Primary School on Petersburn Road in Airdrie.
"As a precaution nearby properties were evacuated.
"Emergency services are at the scene."
A spokesman from North Lanarkshire Council said the school, which has around 180 pupils, would be closed tomorrow.
He said: "There is a significant fire at St Dominic's Primary School.
"The school will be closed tomorrow and we will provide an update for parents over the weekend."
