FIVE people have been rescued from a fire in a flat in Glasgow's west end.
The alarm was raised shortly before 11pm on Sunday night.
Firefighters said they were faced with a "well-developed" fire at Ripon Drive in Kelvindale.
Three fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze.
Two women and three girls were treated at the scene by paramedics but did not need to be taken to hospital.
Station Manager Scott Murray, who was the incident commander, said: "When our crews arrived they were faced with an already well-developed fire.
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus entered the building to conduct a systematic search and bring the fire under control - they ensured all the flats were evacuated and tackled the flames using several high pressure jets.
"We requested an ambulance attend. Two women and three girls received precautionary check-ups and thankfully the paramedics decided they didn't need further treatment."
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: "Before leaving the scene crews worked to ensure there was no hidden fire spread by conducting cutting away operations and using a thermal imaging camera."
