A suspected serial flasher who was wearing a pink thong when he allegedly exposed himself to four women was arrested by police.

An investigation was launched after women told police a pervert in a pink thong had exposed himself to them in Glasgow city centre.

He is alleged to have mooned, bent over, and exposed himself during the incidents.

Officers today revealed a 36-year-old man from Glasgow had been arrested.

Police swooped on a property in city and detained the man after quizzing him.

He was then reported to the procurator fiscal and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.

The man is alleged to have targeted shoppers and revellers in the city centre.

The first incident happened in a busy shop in Argyle Street at around 4.30pm on Monday March 2, when two women said a man was seen exposing a pink thong, which he was wearing underneath his trousers.

Police then received a report about a man allegedly exposing himself to two other women in Hope Street, near Gordon Street, at around 11.45pm on Monday March 16. He is also alleged to have made "sexual remarks" to the women.

Police carried out a major investigation, including conducting door-to-door inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage from cameras around the city centre, following the reports.

Chief Inspector Mark Sutherland, area commander for the city centre, said: "Following a thorough inquiry, a 36-year-old man was arrested by police."

Mr Sutherland added that the alleged victims were unharmed but left "shocked and distressed" after the incidents.
