FLOWER power is being used in a campaign to boost a local economy.
Pupils from Williamwood High School, in Clarkston, got behind East Renfrewshire's A Place to Grow initiative on a visit to Whitelee Wind Farm near Eaglesham.
Council and business leaders unveiled the three-year campaign, which is backed by East Renfrewshire Council and East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, and is aimed at helping the local economy by increasing job prospects and encouraging investment.
The flower brand, designed in-house by the council's graphics team, will be used to market all of the area's economic development, tourism and community-based activities.
Council Leader Jim Fletcher said: "There's never been a more important time to focus on skills, new business and employment opportunities. East Renfrewshire – A place to grow campaign intends to pull all activities such as economic development, tourism, regeneration and planning under one strong brand."
Vincent Waters, president of the East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce said: "This campaign is a call to action for businesses, house builders, estate agents, visitor attractions and communities to work together."
