A GROUP of international journalists will visit Glasgow during next month to experience excellent local produce available in the city.

As part of Scotland's Year of Food & Drink, VisitScotland, in partnership with VisitBritain, has organised for six journalists from countries such as Brazil, India, Australia and Canada to visit Glasgow on Thursday March 5.

The journalists are from publications such as Laha Magazine - a leading Arabic publication, NotquiteNigella, an Australian blog with more than 600, 000 readers and Viagem e Turismo which is the main consumer travel magazine in Brazil with a circulation of 95, 000 and tens of thousands of followers on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Instagram.

The Times of India and India Today which have a circulation 35 million will be represented and Ensemble Vacations from Canada are sending key writers for the national tourism organisation which is working closely with airlines and local businesses to promote the city.

The group will stay at One Devonshire Gardens and enjoy dinner at Stravaigin on Gibson Street sampling local produce from the mouth- watering menus, then venture into Glasgow's nightlife for an after dinner cocktail in the bars such as Chinaskis and Booly Mardy's in Finnieston.
