The 31-year-old is said to have assaulted Julie MacDonald on February 1, last year at Mitchell Street in Glasgow's city centre.

She is charged with driving her luxury car at Miss MacDonald and hitting her on the body with it.

Ms Shevlin - the girlfriend of former Rangers and now Hull City goalie Allan McGregor - faces an alternative charge of dangerous driving, by driving the vehicle at her alleged victim and hitting her.

Yesterday she made a personal appearance at Glasgow Sheriff Court with McGregor.

She was represented by lawyer Dominic Sellar.

Ms Shevlin maintained her not guilty plea.

She is due to stand trial next month.
