Footballer's organs set to aid 7 people

AN amateur footballer who collapsed and died while playing could save the lives of seven patients after his family learned he had signed up to donate his organs.

Adam Bain, 30, from Chryston, Lanarkshire, collapsed after suffering a suspected brain haemorrhage while playing for Gartcosh United Amateur Football Club on Saturday.

He was rushed to hospital, but died on Sunday morning.

The self-employed joiner had signed up to the organ donor register and doctors told his family they would confirm how many people he could help.

It could benefit up to seven people who are in need of organ donation.
