HOUSING tenants are being offered free cookery lessons.

Maryhill Housing Association is launching new classes on Tuesday, January 20.

The association has secured funding for the initiative from Community Food and Health Scotland, part of NHS Health Scotland.

Places are limited but there are some left and are being allocated on a first-come-first-served to Maryhill and Ruchill residents with priority given to tenants of the housing association.

There are two lots of classes - each lasting six weeks - and the aim is to show how healthy eating can be done on a budget.

A fully qualified Chef with expertise in nutrition will lead the classes.

Dawn Baird of Maryhill Housing Association said: "There's no need to worry if you are not the next Jamie Oliver or Gordon Ramsay.

"The course will be fairly flexible and altered to meet the individual needs of the group."

To book a place contact Ruth, Jamie or Dawn at the housing association on 0141 946 2466.
