DETECTIVES are following new leads after the Evening Times published a CCTV image of a man they want to quiz after two sex attacks.

Police are working their way through new information gathered after the appeal.

A number of tip-offs from members of the public are being followed by up investigating officers.

As revealed by the Evening Times, detectives hunting a sex fiend issued the picture of a man they believe will be able to help them with their inquiries.

The incidents happened on board a number 2 bus, between Argyle Street and St Vincent Terrace in the city centre.

Authorities took the decision to release the image, which was captured by a security camera, in a bid to trace whoever is responsible.

A source close to the investigation said officers had "a good response" from the public after the image was published.

Police said the man in the image is described as 5ft 5in tall, between 34 and 39-years-old, of medium build, with black cropped hair.

He was wearing glasses with dark lenses, dark striped polo shirt, dark jacket, dark denims, and green trainers.

The two women were sexually assaulted on the bus between 2pm and 2.30pm on Sunday July 20.

No further details of the victims has been released by police.

Detective Constable Lisa MacDonald, from Glasgow West End Police Office, is leading the investigation.

She appealed for anyone who recognises the man to come forward and contact police.

A spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland are releasing an image of a man whom officers believe may be able to assist them with inquiries after two women were sexually assaulted on a bus in Glasgow city centre."

Police again appealed for the man in the photograph to contact them.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, in confidence, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
