DETECTIVES are following new leads after the Evening Times published CCTV images linked to a spate of Glasgow robberies.

Police are working their way through new information gathered after the appeal.

A number of tip-offs from members of the public even gave names for the people in the images.

Police today revealed a 29-year-old woman was arrested in connection with an alleged robbery in Glasgow city centre.

The move came after CCTV images captured on a city bus were published in the Evening Times.

Now officers hope the images could help solve the mystery behind two other armed raids.

Released as part of Operation Grinch, our pictures show two men who police want to quiz about two separate raids.

Detectives said it was vital the men in the pictures got in touch with them, as they may be able to help piece together what happened during three separate city robberies.

Operation Grinch aims to cut the number of robberies in Glasgow in the run-up to the festive period, as well as catch the culprits behind those that remain unsolved.

Detective Superintendent Stevie Grant, who heads up Glasgow CID, said: "I would encourage anyone who recognises any of the people in these pictures to contact police. We believe they will be able to assist with police inquiries."

Images have been released after an armed robbery at an off licence in the city centre.

A man - armed with a knife - threatened staff at the G101 Off Sales, in Cambridge Street, at around 8.15pm on Thursday August 29 2013.

He made off with a three-figure sum.

Detectives from Glasgow CID's robbery unit issued an image of a man they want to speak to. He is described as white, slim, and in his 40s or 50s.

In the footage, taken from a store security camera, the man is wearing a light brown and blue jacket with black trousers.

Two days later, on Saturday August 31 2013, a man held up a bookies in Cumbernauld Road, making off with three-figure-sum.

The Ladbrokes book-makers was targeted at around 9pm.

Police want to quiz the man in the photograph.

He is described as between 25 and 35 years old, between 5ft 6in and 6ft tall, and has blue eyes.

The image shows a man wearing a navy fleece, grey beanie hat with an emblem on the front and a black snood.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Glasgow City Centre CID on 101 or alternatively, in confidence, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
