GET ready, get set ...

there's still time to sign up for the thrills and spills of an annual It's a Knockout event.

And as well as being drenched in foam or dressed in giant costumnes, you will also be raising funds for the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice.

Teams will battle it out on a massive inflatable assault course at Glasgow Green on August 24.

Teams of 10 can sign up, either members of the public or groups from businesses.

And all the cash will go towards the ambitious £15million Brick By Brick Appeal to build and relocate to a brand new, purpose-built, facility land next to Bellahouston Park. The Evening Times is media partner for the appeal

Martin Brown, managing director of Fleet Alliance, based at Stockwell Street, said: "This is the first time we have taken part and I am proud to say we have five teams entering this year.

"Almost two years ago we decided, as a business, to support the work that the hospice does.

"As we are almost neighbours, we have had a chance to visit the hospice and see first-hand the difference our fundraising efforts make to the patients and their families. It is such a wonderful place, full of laughter.

"Fleet Alliance has already donated almost £14,000 in the last 18 months and we hope to raise a further £7000 for the hospice at this event."

There is a minimum sponsorship of £1000 per team.

Schools, colleges and youth groups taking part should raise a minimum sponsorship of £500 as a team.

Debbi Limond, community and challenges fundraiser at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, said: "Our It's a Knockout challenge is one of our most memorable fundraising events and is a fun and entertaining way for people to raise money.

"Last year participants raised more than £14,000 and this year we are hoping to beat this terrific total.

"With just a few spaces remaining, teams will need to be fast to take part in this year's event."
