RESIDENTS were today allowed to return to their homes almost 24 hours after they were evacuated beacause of a gas leak.
As we reported in earlier editions, around 80 people, some aged 80 or older, were evacuated from their homes at Silverfir Court, in the Gorbals.
The leak was detected by contractors working in the area around lunchtime yesterday. Residents had to spend the night with friends and family, or in hotels.
