CALLS have been made to give the vote to 16 and 17-year-olds in other elections.
A statement from the youth committee of the Scottish Trades Union Congress read: "The STUC Youth Committee calls upon politicians from across the United Kingdom to recognise the confidence, maturity, engagement and activity of Scotland's young people, young workers and young trade unionists by now ensuring that all 16 and 17 year olds are given the vote."
