AN appeal set up for victims of the Glasgow bin lorry tragedy has raised more than £160,000.
The Lord Provost's Queen Street Fund was launched after six people died and others injured when a bin lorry mounted the pavement and crashed into the Millennium Hotel on December 22.
Glasgow City Council said that donations and confirmed pledges to the appeal totalled £161,555.
They said the fund "will benefit the families of the deceased and also those injured in the incident".
Erin McQuade, 18, and her grandparents Jack, 68, and Lorraine Sweeney, 69, all from Dumbarton, were killed.
Gillian Ewing, 52, of Edinburgh, Stephanie Tait, 29, and Jacqueline Morton, 51, both of Glasgow, also died.
A total of 10 other people were seriously injured.
A full report into the incident will be submitted to the Crown Office by the end of the month.
The fund is a non charitable trust. It is chaired by the Lord Provost of Glasgow, Councillor Sadie Docherty, who is also one of five Trustees.
Anyone who wants to donate by debit or credit card should call 0141 287 7878.
Donations can also be made at any bank using Sort Code 834400 and Account Number 10809775.
Cash or cheque donations can be made in person at the council's Service Desk at 45 John Street.
