FREE Wi-Fi and extra cover for bad weather will be available at Hamilton Park Racecourse as part of a new £250,000 investment in the venue.

The racecourse will be the first in Scotland to offer free Wi-Fi to all its guests and this season, the venue was also, in 2010, the first in the UK to include concerts on non-race nights.

The investment will also see further improvements being made to the hospitality suites and the grandstand, as well as a refurbishment of the listed Weighing Room building and new running rail.

Visitors will have the chance to experience the new upgrades at the launch of the racecourse's new season on Sunday 3 May.

This year, guests can expect an action-packed season, which will last from May to September, with events running on most days and nights.

The events will include themed days, the Super Six, which will feature the 50th anniversary of the Saints and Sinners Racenight, as well as a Ladbrokes Lanark Silver Bell Racenight.

Former TOWIE star Mark Wright will also be making an appearance at the venue as part of the Alea Casino Ladies' Night.

Vivien Kyles, Chief Executive at Hamilton Park Racecourse, said the racecourse is proud of improvements to the venue as a result of the quarter of a million pounds investment.

She said: "We're determined to offer guests the ultimate experience when they visit Hamilton Park Racecourse and this investment ahead of our new season is part of that commitment.

"We're proud to lead the way with the services and events we offer to our visitors, and our complimentary Wi-Fi is a prime example of this.

"Combined with our improved hospitality areas, grandstand and facilities, this will add to a fantastic day or night out for guests and ensure Hamilton Park remains a first class venue."
