LITTLE Harris Sweeney was all smiles as he was officially crowned Evening Times Tot 2013.

The 20-month-old was joined by his mum Laura, 27, and dad Robert, 27, at the St Enoch's Centre in Glasgow for the presentation of his first prize.

The lucky boy won £1000, a £400 gift voucher for Smyths Toys Superstore, plus a VIP lunch with Santa at Hamleys toy store in the shopping centre.

More than 58,000 people cast their votes in this year's competition and little Harris came out on top, closely followed by two-year-old Holly McKenzie, from Bridgeton, in second place, and nine-month-old Molly McIlroy who was placed third.

It is the third year running that a boy has taken our Times Tot title.

Laura, who works as an admin assistant, said her son would be very excited to choose the toys, especially as this would be the first Christmas when he really understood what it meant.

Times Tots 2013 launched in October and a total of 600 youngsters had their pictures taken by Evening Times photographers.

All the photographs appeared in the newspaper and Harris won after a series of rounds of voting.

It was the first time he had entered and it only came about after his aunties Linda and Helen Sweeney took him to get his picture taken.

Harris is a big fan of Batman and Laura suspects there might be lots of toys of the superhero in his shopping trolley.
