A DAY of sport and games is on the cards when Quarriers hosts its summer fun day.

Tomorrow's event at Scotsoun Sports Campus is free and starts at 11am.

This inclusive fun sports day with a twist is open to all ages and abilities. It is an opportunity to have a go at traditional races like the relay, assault course and egg and spoon race, take part in a five-a-side football tournament, and learn new skills in the workshops.

The event was suggested by children supported by Quarriers with the aim of bringing services and the community closer together. Between noon and 1pm there will be the first stage of competitive games, including 400m relay, wheelbarrow race, tug of war, throw the welly and assault course.

The second stage take place from 3pm to 4pm.

From 1pm to 3pm there will be workshops and lunch, as well as various sporting activities: rugby with Glasgow Warriors, football with Street Soccer Scotland, basketball, table tennis and martial arts, stalls, magician, inflatables, a petting zoo and competitions.

The closing ceremony takes place from 4pm-5pm, when there will be music, dance and awards.
