The ex-wife of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney with whom she has Beatrice, 6, also said she wanted to inspire others who also use prosthetic limbs.
Heather is among 14 celebrities to compete in the ITV1 competition and through her appearance on show aims to boost a charity which helps impoverished children in New York.
At the programme’s launch she said: “The charity’s been suffering a lot, I’ve been funding it always and they said they’d give us a good fee for the charity so I thought that would be good.
“Also I’ve got 6,000 amputees on my web-site who look to me for inspirational things.”
The strict vegan, who has appeared on the US version of Strictly Come Dancing, said she had brought vegan cakes to the studios for the show’s participants.
Other celebrities set to star on the show being screened this Sunday will be TV chef Gordon Ramsay’s wife Tanya and EastEnders actress Daniella Westbrook.
